HEADWAY – SEEDS Joint Venture

SEEDS - Social Economic Environmental Development Society, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to driving positive socio-economic and environmental change across Lebanon and the Middle East. SEEDS was established in March 2010. With a mission to empower communities and foster sustainable development, SEEDS works to address the region's most pressing socio-economic challenges, from poverty and unemployment to educational gaps and environmental concerns. We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals, equipping them with the skills and resources they need to build resilient futures. Our key areas of focus include vocational training, micro-finance initiatives, entrepreneurship support, environmental protection, and women’s empowerment. Through strategic partnerships with local communities, government agencies, private sector entities, and international organizations, SEEDS promotes locally driven solutions tailored to the unique needs of each community we serve. By prioritizing grassroots involvement, we ensure that our programs have a lasting impact, fostering a cycle of growth and opportunity. Our projects are designed to enhance livelihoods, promote gender equality, and empower youth—all essential pillars in building a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable Middle East. At SEEDS, we believe in nurturing potential, fostering collaboration, and investing in the region’s most valuable resource: its people. Join us in cultivating a more prosperous, equitable, and environmentally responsible future for the Middle East.

SEEDS plays an instrumental role in community planning and development, working closely with local stakeholders to create programs that reflect the unique needs and aspirations of each community. We understand that sustainable development begins with a deep understanding of local challenges and resources, which is why we engage community members, local leaders, and experts in a participatory planning process. Our approach emphasizes collaboration and inclusivity, ensuring that voices from all walks of life are heard and valued. Through needs assessments, feasibility studies, and ongoing community consultations, SEEDS designs and implements initiatives that drive long-term social, economic, and environmental impact. From infrastructure projects that improve access to clean water and reliable energy, to educational initiatives that enhance skill development and employability, SEEDS is committed to fostering growth from the ground up. By empowering communities to take an active role in planning and development, we build local capacity, nurture self-sufficiency, and create lasting foundations for prosperity across the Middle East.

In September 2024, HEADWAY-SEEDS JV launched the "Wild Oaks Center" for creativity and social entrepreneurship. The center supports CBOs, NGOs, Social Enterprises, businesses with a purpose, and youth and women's initiatives by providing infrastructure, training, and networking opportunities. Located in the Koura Valley, the center also aims to raise awareness about the endangered Quercus ilex (Mediterranean Oak) and promotes sustainable practices.
